President Obama’s first term is nearly complete. I feel it is time to grade the Administration up to this point. How has he performed in truly serving the American people? While on my commute into work this morning, I passed an eighteen wheeler with this tag line on the drivers door: 40 Acres and a Mule. I took a quick look as to who was driving and found a middle-aged Black man with a scruff graying beard. Here is a man still holding on to an ideal of prosperity. The Angry Black…President?
Here is a new one America is trying on for size: Our fairly new, Black President doesn’t get angry enough! (Read that once more for affect.) In a country where the ‘Angry Black Man‘ stereotype is fearfully comforting, the even-tempered Black President is chided as being soft. Is it just me, or is this the epitome of irony given the history of racial stereotypes in America?
